Stjernen vs Storhamar 0-3 FINAL
(0-1, 0-0, 0-2)

Storhamar took control from the get-go and created scoring chances already in the first shift. The pressure continued and culminated in a goal by Robin Dahlstrøm in the third minute. A nice backhand pass by Patrick Thoresen from «Gretzky’s office» found Dahlstrøm in the low slot, and the Oslo native beat Tommy Johansen with a low shot. The Yellows continued the domination after the goal, but Johansen managed to keep them off, and as the minutes went along Stjernen became a bit more dangerous in offense. Victor Svensson came closest to doubling the lead for Storhamar half way into it, but his snapper from the circle dented the plumbing. After a while the visitors fell in quality, and sloppiness gave the hosts 2-3 huge scoring chances versus Oskar Östlund between the pipes. Luckily Storhamar’s netminder made som nice saves to keep his team on top.

The second act was a one way attack towards the Stjernen net. Puck possession was like «soccer-Barcelona», but the Yellows couldn’t find a way to beat Johansen. Stjernen worked heroic in defense and kept Storhamar for the most part on the outside. Of course the Yellows should have netted a couple or more, but no one seemed to have the quality needed. The passing game looked like old school Soviet, but without the finishing. At times it looked a bit parodic since Storhamar were all over the place without managing to capitalize.

Christian Bull doubled Storhamar’s lead in the first shift of the third period, a goal that killed a bit of the home team’s enthusiasm. Bull beat Tommy Johansen with a wrister on the glove side. The rest of the frame was a solid display by the Yellows controlling the run of play without taking any risks. 12 minutes into it Mikael Dokken scored the third from the backdoor on a cross ice pass from Kjetil Martinsen, a goal that killed the game completely. Oskar Östlund kept his clean sheet as well, so at the end of the day everybody – from Hamar – was happy.
