April 7th 2019, playoff finals game 2 of 7
Frisk Asker vs Storhamar 4-2 FINAL
(1-1, 2-0, 1-1)
Frisk Asker took the second leg of the final series by playing a solid game in defence, and by striking hard when given the chance. Even though Storhamar took the lead in the first period, the hosts managed to score three straight goals to take a solid two goal lead before the final stretch. Storhamar never managed to come back, even though Robin Dahlstrøm cut the lead in half five minutes before the end. An emptynetter secured the win for Asker with just a minute left on the clock.
Troy Josephs opened up the scoring with a powerplay wrister early in the first period, and Frisk tied it a few minutes later when garret Thompson beat Oskar Östlund from the high slot. In the second act Storhamar missed a few huge chances to take the lead, and in stead – a bit typical in such games – Victor Björkung and Hampus Gustafsson scored a couple of late powerplay tallies to send the hosts on top.
Nicklas Dahlberg in net for the home team played a solid game, a bit ghost like, and was the biggest reason for his team’s success. The blue dressed Yellows fired 19 (!!!) shots on net during the final stanza, but it was only Dahlstrøm who could beat the Swedish born netminder.
Frisk won it fair and square, and thereby tied the series.
